This is a photo of an old painting I did in 1995 (they used a flash so it doesn’t show up perfectly here). It is a portrait of my aunt, my two cousins and their horses. The red horse, named “Wix,” passed away shortly before this was painted, at the age of 30. A fine showman in his prime, Wix carried his riders to blue ribbons. He was the horse I first rode as a tiny child, and was the most beautiful and gentle horse soul we ever knew. Riding Wix was more than simple transportation.
- ...And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. -Genesis 1:25
